tom ruggieThomas H. Ruggie, ChFC, CFP

Tom founded Ruggie Wealth Management in 1991 and since then has been very successful with his business, maintaining an excellent client retention rate and in the last 5 years has averaged a 25% annual growth rate.  He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), as well as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has a stellar reputation for being personable and caring.  Those characteristics may be part of the reason he has such a large referral base from his wide range of clients, local CPA’s and attorneys. 

Tom’ s specialties in wealth management include, but are not limited to, managing portfolio investments, monitoring the market for potential impact on client investments, facilitating estate and tax planning , reallocating client portfolios based upon market changes and developing financial planning strategies. In recent years he has developed his own unique retirement distribution strategy which has seen exceptional results. He is a steadfast observer of market nuances and his guiding principals serve as the foundation of Ruggie Wealth Management.

Tom Ruggie graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. In 2006 and 2007, Tom was selected by The Robb Report’s Worth Magazine as one the Top 100 Wealth Advisors in the United States.  He was also featured in the October 2007 issue of Forbes Magazine as one of The Ten Most Dependable Wealth Managers of Florida according to Goldline Research .  He currently sits on the BankFirst Board of Directors, the board for Hospice of Lake and Sumter Counties, is a past President of the Mid-Florida Estate Planning Council and a 2003 graduate of Leadership Lake County.  He and his wife, Kim, live in Eustis with their two children.

Ruggie Wealth Management is pleased to announce that Howard Sherman has joined their firm as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO).  Howard brings 50 years of extensive experience in the securities industry with organizations such as Lehman Brothers, Gartman Rose, Drexel Burnham, E.F. Hutton and Morgan Stanley.
His vast experience in the financial industry makes him an exceptional asset to Ruggie Wealth Management.  He is a graduate of Bordentown Military Institute with BS and MBA degrees from New York University.  Howard  moved to Florida with his wife Sally six years ago and they currently reside in The Villages.

Dave has been guiding clients through the maze of the financial world for over 25 years.  His desire to be among the best practitioners in the industry has led him to attain the designations of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Chartered Financial Constultant (ChFC).  He has extensive experience in interpretation of the income tax laws that allows him to help clients accumulate wealth in the most tax efficient manner possible.  His strong working relations with the area’s top attorneys has afforded him the opportunity to develop expertise in the areas of charitable planning, trust and estate planning, and business valuations.  Dave believes in developing long-term relationships with clients, and attributes his success to “Golden Rule Service” and constant attention to their needs.

Dave holds a degree from Southern Illinois University and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He is currently a member of the Florida Hospital Waterman Foundation Board.  He and his family make their home in Eustis.

Tom works with individual and institutional (including non-profit) clients regarding investments, acquisition and divestiture of businesses and redeployment of financial assets.  Tom’s experience as a successful business owner and corporate executive includes: newspaper publishing, contract services for public schools, buying and selling businesses and non-profit board leadership.  He also was an investment analyst for Putnam Investments and Batterymarch research while attending graduate school.  He has been an active investor for many years. 

Tom has a BS from the U.S. Air Force Academy, an MS in Astrophysics from Ohio State University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.  He served on Boards of the Littleton Regional Hospital, the Northern New England Hospital Consortium, the Center for New Beginnings and the New England Press Association.  Tom and his wife, Diana, reside in Lake County. 
 

dolores colleloDolores Collelo, Client Relations Manager

Dolores Collelo is a Clients Relations manager at Ruggie Wealth Management.  In this position, Dolores works with individual and institutional (including non-profit) clients regarding investments, acquisition and divestiture of businesses and redeployment of financial assets.  Prior to working at RWM, Dolores was senior Vice President of the Financial Planning Department of Harold C. Brown & Co., LLC, an investment services and financial planning company based in Buffalo, New York, for over 25 years.  The  experience she brings with her from  that position will make her an exceptional asset to the diverse clientele of Ruggie Wealth Management.  She has had a house in Florida for the last 12 years and now lives in Windemere permanently with her husband of 40 years, Bruce.

The roots of what has become Moreno, Peelen, Ruggie, Pinto & Clark were planted in Orlando back in 1961. Now more than forty five years later, MPRP&C continue to meet the investment and financial planning needs of Central Floridians. Following in his late father’s footsteps, Tony Moreno, Jr, joined the firm fifteen years ago, and has now become one of the most widely known family business and corporate planners in this area. Tony has devoted his practice solely to wealth transfer and exit planning. As part of a second-generation multidisciplinary financial services firm, he truly understands and has the resources to provide clients with independent and objective solutions. With 50+ years of combined experience, Tony and his team knows what it takes to assist business owners with the development of an exit plan that reflects personal, family and business concerns.

As a Chartered Financial Consultant, his commitment to his clients has resulted in membership of the Million Dollar Round Table's elite group "Court of the Table" and "Top of the Table".  He is also the recipient of the prestigious Leon Levy award, honoring financial services professionals who have met the most stringent ethical and professional standards while providing continuous quality advise and service to his clients. Tony has a degree in finance from the University of Central Florida. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Association of Advanced Life Underwriting, a Registered Financial Consultant and a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow. In addition, he has served on the board of The National Organ Transplant Foundation and sits on the board of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Development Board for St. John Vianney Catholic School.

Tony, his wife Karen, and his three children Carli, Tony III and Ellie reside in Winter Park, Florida.

 

scott peelenScott Peelen
Scott began his financial career in an unusual way: on the TV screen! His first job fresh out of Michigan State was as a television reporter. Working at stations in West Palm Beach, Orlando, and Tampa; Scott found he had an affinity for financial stories. So when he tired of the grind of TV, he found that financial planning was a perfect fit.

The career changes has proven to be the correct move, as he has thrived in his chosen career for nearly 16 years. Today he is a Senior Partner at Moreno, Peelen, Ruggie, Pinto and Clark LLP, a wealth management firm in Downtown Orlando and in Tavares. Scott and his partners provide “full service” business, investment, employee benefit, and estate planning services throughout Florida.

Working closely with partners Tom Ruggie, and Tony Moreno, Scott is in charge of business development for the firm. Specialties include exit planning strategies for businesses owners (large and small), business valuations (what is a company really worth?), asset protection strategies (time tested methods, that don’t upset the IRS) and other innovations for retirement and building wealth.

Peelen is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table’s prestigious Court of the Table. He is very active in his church, as well as his children’s schools. He was on the transition team for Florida Governor Charlie Crist. He is the father of three daughters, and married to his wife Patty. He resides with his family in Winter Park.

 

lisa morenoElizabeth (Lisa) Moreno-Haramboure
For nearly 17 years, Lisa Moreno-Haramboure has worked in the employee benefits and health insurance arena. Lisa is the Senior Partner in the firm her father, Tony Moreno Sr. founded, (now known as) Moreno, Peelen, Ruggie, Pinto, and Clark; a firm with roots dating back to 1961 in serving Central Florida businesses. Throughout that time, Lisa established a proven track record in employee benefit strategies for large and small companies all across Florida. She is also a Gold/Silver Member for sales and service excellence for United Health Care Corporation.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1989 from the University of Central Florida, and is an active member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2005, she was a finalist in the Don Quijote (Community Achievement) Award of Central Florida. Lisa is also a member of the Health Underwriters Association, is the past Vice-President and President of the St. John Vianney School PTO, as well as past member of their Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Civitan Club, and past board member of Shepherd’s Hope. In 2006, Lisa was the recipient of the “Jefferson Award for Public Service” for outstanding community service. Lisa has been chosen as one of the Orlando Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40”, one of the most successful and influential people in Central Florida under 40. In 2006, Lisa was selected to be on the panel for the 13th Annual Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo at the Convention Center in Orlando. She was also a panelist at the Entrepreneur Panel presentation of the Latina Style Magazine Business Series.

As Team Leader, Della works closely with our clients to process new application, process service requests, and oversee the day to day operations of our office. Della has mastered our "investing in you" philosophy and goes to great lengths to insure our clients are receiving everything they need from Ruggie Wealth Management. Della actively works with all of our new clients from the moment they decide to become a client of Ruggie Wealth until our "New Client Process" is complete. This includes all new and existing business transfers, deposits and distributions.

She has worked in the financial field for 13 years, five of those with Ruggie Wealth Management. A graduate of Mount Dora High School, she was recently honored with the Vicki B. Starks Award. Della, husband Paul, and daughter Chelsi share their home with various pets, including dogs, cats, gerbils and sugar gliders. Della loves to shop, snorkel and fish.

As the Director of First Impressions; most of our clients get to know Sarah very well! She is our irreplaceable client coordinator who keeps our office running smoothly. Sarah prepares our data for input into our systems, manages advisors' calendars, and handles all client correspondence and office emails.

Sarah has worked for Ruggie Wealth Management for four years. Sarah is married to John, one of the "best men on earth", and has one daughter, Shauna, as well as a menagerie of animals.

Cathey is our Operations Manager, and is responsible for placing and settling our client trades and overseeing compliance issues for our two offices. Because she is handling individual client transactions on a daily basis, Cathey makes it a point to become intimately familiar with the planning and strategies set forth by our advisors. Her 25+ years of experience in the industry allow her to assist clients with out of the ordinary requests. She also serves as our compliance coordinator and stays abreast of all regulatory requirements and changes in the industry. Cathey also processes applications, and maintains client information as it tracks through our systems.

Cathey began her career on Wall Street for a municipal bond firm 25 years ago. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hofstra University and also holds an NASD Series 7 license. She is past chair of American Business Woman's Association, and supports both the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. Cathey enjoys constantly repotting her plants, "playing" at golf and taking long walks with Snapper, her beloved dog.

Ruggie Wealth Management is pleased to welcome Victora Petno to their team as the assistant to Dave Weiss, Tom Hepner and Dolores Colello.  Victoria grew up in Camden, South Carolina but has lived in Florida for the past 17 years and comes to RWM with 13 years of prior administrative experience for the City of Apopka in the Public Services Department.  Here at Ruggie Wealth Management she will be assisting advisors in the preparation of applications required to suit the individual financial needs of clients and coordinating and scheduling meetings for advisors along with supporting the rest of the internal staff.  Victoria is very excited to be the newest member of Ruggie Wealth Management and has found everyone to be very professional and dedicated to the work they do as well as extremely pleasant and supportive.  She has a daughter, Nikki, and a granddaughter, Jordenne, who is very involved in softball.  Victoria and her husband have resided in Tavares for the last seven years.
