Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Anderson joined LPL in 1999,
as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. In 2000, he was
promoted to Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. He currently
directs a team of 19 LPL analysts, providing in-depth research on the global
economy and financial markets, mutual funds, equities and portfolio optimization.
Mr. Anderson has extensive economic and investment experience. From 1990
to 1998 he was the Director of Economic and Sector Research at Fidelity
Investments, Boston. As such, he advised the firm on U.S. industry performance,
the state of world economies and evaluated policy and business prospects.
From 1986 to 1990, he was an Economist and Associate Director with Bear Stearns & Co.
in New York. At Bear Stearns he provided investment advice to both the bond
and equity trading floors as well as to institutional clients of the company.
From 1982 to 1986, Mr. Anderson was a Senior Staff Economist at the Council
of Economic Advisors (CEA) in the Reagan Administration. In this position
he was responsible for administration forecasting, and represented the CEA
at the Working Group and Sub-Cabinet level on issues relating to the budget,
statistics, and defense policy. From 1976 to 1982, Mr. Anderson was a research
economist at the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Mr. Anderson received his Masters
Degree in Monetary Theory and International Finance from UCLA in 1975. Mr.
Anderson holds NASD Series 7 and 24 licenses.
